I’m playing Dishonored and every time I pick an unconscious enemy up and throw them to the ground this happens
It looks like they’re dancing, and it makes me angry because I can’t hide the bodies when they do this
[Dishonored reblog fic]
It starts a few weeks after one of Daud’s visits to the shrine.
Aeolos goes missing one night during patrol. A frantic search ends when he blinks back, sodden and reeking, from a stretch of stagnant water nearly five blocks south. Laurence disappears from his post staking out a mark in the Legal District only to be found six rooftops over when shifts change. Galia vanishes between training sessions; the others find her three floors up with no memory of how she got there.
The mystery is solved when Julian falls asleep at the kitchen table and inexplicably floats out of his chair.
Careful experiments conducted by Piece and Popinjay determine that Julian can be moved while floating in his sleep. He can also be rotated, posed, and gently led around the base with a string like a ponderous balloon. Most importantly, waking up sends the sleeper plummeting back to earth, as they discovered when the wind started blowing Julian away over the base and Piece shot him with a bolt and line to tow him back.
It’s a random quirk of magic - only a handful of them float in their sleep on any given day, and it seems to be a different group each time. Rulfio quietly frets about recruits drifting through the non-existent ceiling at night and eventually persuades Rinaldo to help him nail down some netting over the larger gaps. Some of the Whalers take to draping sheets over themselves on stakeouts, resulting in rumors of ghosts trailing through Dunwall, shedding explosives into the street.
Things start getting out of hand when Bertram knocks Thomas out in training one day and Thomas starts floating up towards the ceiling. The senior Whalers make little use of this discovery, but the recruits coming in after suffer for it, particularly during transversal and tethering practice. Several pranks later Popinjay pulls out all of his scalpels and snarls that if they’re all so eager to injure each other he’ll ban them from painkillers for the next five hundred years.
No one is sure how they keep the truth from Daud for four whole months.
That’s when the hounds start floating.
"Because it will annoy them," the Outsider whispered, ghosting through the Flooded District and sprinkling dark dust on the fortunate few. "Because it will annoy them."

I fucken lost it completely right there.
