"Mom’s just mad I beat her best speed record—of course everything’s fine. Actually—It’s /perfect/, just fucking perfect."
lil ANOVA comic practice with plenty missing context so i’ll explain what’s going on. Some people have been asking for a bit of Bree/Rajenlo interaction—so here it’s a bit, with Karel thrown in for good measure
Each Kerberos hosts trials of their own and anyone within the Jauria is free to participate. Something like monthly Olympics except potentially far more deadly—Rajenlo’s are the most difficult and dangerous obviously, and her least favorite daughter just kicked her ass in one of the obstacle courses set on some old ruins that used to be bunkers and fortresses to fend off against Prism-aligned barons, centuries ago. Rigged with old and new traps they’ve been the death for several couple brazen slow koboyes
Rajenlo’s notorious for being a sore loser, but at least she gets back at Bree a couple days after when she’s just chilling out in the open-hunt grounds nursing after the trial—and picks her right off by her head to give her a minute-long lecture while slightly grinding her claws on her daughter’s face. The aftermath was just Bree being pretty sore but rather satisfied with how fucking childish her mom was to let her know she managed to buuuuuurn her pride
and tis’ Just one of the several cases both Bree and her mom don’t agree with each other quite well

"I saw, or fancied I saw, the room and its furniture just as I had seen it last, except that it was very dark, and I saw something moving round the foot of the bed, which at first I could not accurately distinguish. But I soon saw that it was a sooty-black animal that resembled a monstrous cat. It appeared to me about four or five feet long, for it measured fully the length of the hearthrug as it passed over it; and it continued to-ing and fro-ing with the lithe sinister restlessness of a beast in a cage." - Le Fanu, “Carmilla”
was asked to make the character appear to have been previously attacked, and man I could never balk at something subtly violent.
and of course, dragons.
